On behalf of my family, I ask that you please not share the very graphic video of Trey. For some of you it’s information, entertainment even but for us it’s a living nightmare. At this time we ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through this difficult time.

RépondreSupprimerTrey Reed. My soul cries out.
If you were loud about Charlie Kirk, Hulk Hogan, or that CEO, but you’re silent about Demartravion “Trey” Reed—you’re not neutral, you’re racist.

Delta State University in Mississippi has canceled all classes and events after a body was found on campus earlier this morning. 21 year old Demartravion “Trey” Reed of Grenada was found hanging from a tree early Monday morning.
RépondreSupprimerBREAKING: A Black Delta State University student was found hanging from a tree Monday morning. Demartravion "Trey" Reed’s body was found hanging in the middle of campus. Allegedly with two broken arms and a broken leg. As of now, law enforcement does not suspect foul play.
RépondreSupprimerWait don’t suspect foul play? He broke his own arms and legs THEN hung himself???
SupprimerOn September 15, 2025, Cory Zukatis was found hanging from a tree in a wooded area near Vicksburg, Mississippi. Conflicting reports have circulated regarding his race, with some outlets publishing photographs that may not accurately represent him. What is confirmed is that Mr. Zukatis was unhoused, and that his death is currently classified as a “death investigation.”
RépondreSupprimerEarlier that day, Demartravion “Trey” Reed was also reported to have been found hanging from a tree on the campus grounds of Delta State University.
The timing and circumstances of these deaths demand transparency. Both Mr. Zukatis and Mr. Reed were members of vulnerable communities, whether unhoused, young, or marginalized. Their families deserve nothing less than clear, thorough, and public investigations.
We cannot ignore the broader context. In recent days, harmful rhetoric has been amplified on national platforms, including Fox News, where Brian Kilmeade stated that unhoused individuals should be executed. Words that dehumanize the unhoused, or any community, do not exist in a vacuum; they create climates where violence is minimized, excused, or ignored.
I am not here to speculate on causation. I am here to insist on accountability. To insist that law enforcement, coroners, and officials treat these cases with the seriousness they deserve. To insist that platforms stop allowing hate and dehumanization to go unchecked.
Cory Zukatis and Demartravion Reed were human beings. Their lives mattered. Their families deserve truth, transparency, and justice.r
Unhoused people have been mysteriously dying in Augusta GA as well. It's challenging to track, there isn't as much news about their deaths as persons with a current home, school, or work on record to report. Our community has just suffered another loss and I fear it's this rhetoric that's diminishing our beloved population. everyone deserves another day to direct the flow of their own life and experience change.

RIP Demartravion "Trey" Reed, a 21-year-old freshman from Grenada, who was found just after 7 AM Monday, September 15, 2025 hanging from a tree on the central campus of Delta State University (DSU) near the school's pickleball courts.
RépondreSupprimerAmerica lowers flags and weeps for Charlie Kirk, a white supremacist whose rhetoric dehumanized Black people. Yet when Demartravion ‘Trey’ Reed is found hanging from a tree in the middle of Delta State’s campus with two broken legs, police rush to call it suicide and the nation shrugs.
RépondreSupprimerThis is the hypocrisy of America — outrage for a racist, silence for a Black man lynched in 2025.

RépondreSupprimerThis is beyond disheartening! Here we are in 2025 and continuing to backtrack. "They" are trying to erase parts of history so the new generation doesn't learn how disgusting it was and they can pretend it didn’t exist. However, with the rhetoric and nonsense being allowed/condoned in our country, history's continuing to repeat itself and be shown first-hand anyway. Smh.
